Description

Picture this: you're sitting there, mind racing with a thousand different ideas, tasks screaming for attention, opportunities pulling you in every direction. Sound familiar? That overwhelming chaos where you can't think straight is exactly why I developed "Input Filtering" - a simple but powerful technique for creating instant mental clarity in the storm.

Input Filtering works by making a conscious distinction between chaos and focus. You grab a pen, draw a vertical line down the middle of a page, and start sorting. Left side becomes your INPUT - all the chaos, ideas, and noise swirling around. Right side becomes your FOCUS - only the things that truly deserve your attention right now. It's like creating a quiet room of focus inside a hurricane of distractions.

The magic happens when you realize you can apply this at any level. Small stuff like daily tasks, or massive life decisions. When your FOCUS side starts getting cluttered again, you simply create another distinction. Your previous focus becomes the new input, and you filter again. The lines you create become powerful filters that give you instant mental space whenever you need it.

Application

  • When overwhelmed, immediately grab pen and paper and draw a vertical line
  • Rapidly sort everything swirling in your mind: chaos goes left, priorities go right
  • Work only from the right side until it gets cluttered, then filter again by creating a new distinction
  • Turn your previous focus into new input and filter once more - you can repeat this process endlessly
  • Scale from small daily tasks to fundamental life decisions using the same filtering principle
